Welcome to Captain Cook, a beautifully restored historic home on a prime corner lot in Downtown Lake Geneva, WI. Built in the 1800s, this 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom retreat combines timeless charm with modern amenities—including a private hot tub—making it the perfect getaway for families, friends, or remote workers seeking comfort and convenience.
Just a 6-minute walk to Main Street, you'll be steps away from Lake Geneva’s best coffee shops, restaurants, bars, and boutiques. It's also ideal for wedding parties, located only 4 minutes from Horticultural Hall. The Lake Geneva Public Beach is a short 7-minute stroll, where you can enjoy the sandy shoreline, explore the iconic Shore Path, or embark on a boating adventure. With year-round attractions like golf, skiing at The Grand Geneva (3 miles away), and indoor fun at Timber Ridge Waterpark (2.5 miles), there’s something for everyone.
Inside, you’ll find a welcoming space with tasteful updates. Upstairs features four cozy bedrooms: three with king beds, and one with a queen bed and a twin bed—perfect for flexible sleeping arrangements. Each level has a full bathroom for added convenience. The main floor boasts an open-concept living and dining area with plush seating and a smart TV—ideal for unwinding after a day of adventure. The updated kitchen includes stainless steel appliances, a gas range, and all the essentials to cook and gather.

The large fenced-in yard is perfect for kids to run and play, and the back patio offers a fire pit with string lights and cozy seating—perfect for evening conversations and stargazing.
Thoughtfully stocked for your stay, the home includes free WiFi, five smart TVs (no cable), a Pack-n-Play, stroller, high chair, yard games, fire pit, hot tub, and four driveway parking spots.
Ideal for family vacations, work-from-anywhere retreats, wedding groups, or holiday getaways, Captain Cook delivers an unforgettable stay in a location you’ll love.
Please note: For security purposes, exterior security cameras are present on the property. No parties are allowed. Max occupancy is 9 guests. Primary renter must be 25 or older. After booking, guests will be asked to sign an electronic rental agreement.
The hot tub is available year-round, however during extreme cold or sustained below-freezing temperatures (common in Wisconsin winters), the hot tub may not heat to full temperature or may be unusable. This is due to equipment limitations in extreme weather and is unfortunately outside of our control.

Great Home for Families with Kids
by CarmenBeautiful, comfortable and very spacious home within walking distance of downtown and beach. We loved the large fenced in yard (young kids). Loved utilizing the fire pit too. Host provided lots of toys and games that kept everyone busy and entertained. Easy check-in/out. Everything was clean and we felt right at home in the cozy place. The area was perfect and we will 100% recommend this home and host to others looking to stay in Lake Geneva!

Walking Distance to Everything!
by AndreaCaptain Cook is the perfect spot to enjoy all that Lake Geneva has to offer! Walking distance to beach, shops, restaurants, and bars yet removed from traffic and crowds. The wrap around porch with ample seating allowed us to enjoy time with family in the outdoor setting. The kitchen was the perfect for morning coffee at the island and cooking up meals. There’s a dining table for six and plenty of comfortable seating in the large living room for playing games or watching TV. The upstairs had 4 nice size bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Small touches such as local coffee samples and an apple cinnamon kringle for our first morning was a kind gesture by the manager. Checkin process was very smooth and the manager was super responsive to our questions prior to arrival. Thanks for allowing us a home away from home to reconnect with our family, we would love to return again!
Amazing Stay in Lake Geneva

The house was beyond family friendly - all of the furniture was comfortable, there were rugs and carpets in key areas, children amenities and tons of toys and games for both children and adults. Perfect location, walking distance to Lake, shops, and playground. Solid communication from the manager. We would certainly return again the future.

This house clearly ranks at the top: immaculate, well appointed, kitchen is well equipped, lots of light, roomy, and comfortable. Location is perfect: in a quiet neighborhood, but within easy walking distance to cafes, restaurants, shops, and the lake. Hosts were very responsive. We were sad to leave our stay was so nice.

As we enter the house, the Elite team left us a very nice thank you along with a cinnamon strudel, what a wonderful touch. The location was absolutely ideal, walkable to downtown and many shops and restaurants. Most of the time we stayed at the house, just playing games, laughing and eating. Spacious Home in Great Location

The family especially enjoyed bbq night dining on the porch, playing bags and finishing the night making s’mores at the fire pit. An easy five minute walk to the beach makes this a perfect location. Perfect Girls Getaway

Perfect Location
by Mark O.The property was very clean and had an amazing open concept. There were plenty of comfortable bedrooms on the 2nd floor and a yard and porch that wrapped around the entire house. My nephews really enjoyed the yard and the fire pit at night. Our favorite aspect of the house was that it was in a very quiet part of the neighborhood yet still only 2 blocks away from the bustling downtown area that nestled right up to the shore. We barely had to drive anywhere in order to shop, dine or have a day at the beach. I would love to stay at this property again in the future.
